In addition to people with credit issues, self-employed individuals often have trouble getting bank financing so we are also commonly asked if we can work with self-employed clients.
We’re proud to say that the answer is “yes”. Mortgage lenders are typically looking for a strong track record of income when it comes to self-employed applicants, and although we still have this general requirement, we tend to be a little more flexible.
For self-employed applicants we will want to verify the applicant has a registered business which has been in operation for a minimum of 1 year. We also require verification of the income generated from the client’s business to ensure the applicant can afford the property we will be helping them purchase.
